They also protect your vehicle against scratches by limiting contact between it and the license plate. The Star Pin fasteners deters removal of a license plate without the included wrench.
Fasteners are made of stainless steel. Designed to fit domestic or import vehicles. Includes 2 stainless steel Star Pin fasteners, 4 plastic Rattle Stop spacers with 2 rubber/stainless steel sleeve nuts and 1 Star Pin wrench for installation.

I bought the rattle stop kit to mount my license plate to an existing plate license frame. The frame of receiving bolt is made of a hard plastic which slid on the back is my license plate frame when the bolt was tightened, so to make this work (and it worked perfectly) I had to add a small piece of soft rubber between the receiving bolt and my plate frame. This allowed the license plate to be secured tightly with the bolt.
