JD Schantle isa devoted sportsman who grew up on Leech Lake, located in Walker, MN, a small town in the northern part of the state.  As a young kid, he spent all the time he could fishing for bass and walleye, as well as being an avid hunter. After graduating with a degree in Fluid Power and Motion Control in 2008, he spent a few years living and working in Houston, Texas. In 2010, he moved back home to Minnesota with his wife Katie and found a passion for tournament fishing. Growing up on the the 3rd biggest lake in Minnesota and still having family and friends up north, he spends much of his time fishing and hunting during both the summers and winters. He competed in his first Team Bass Tournament Trail in 2012 where he was awarded Rookie of the Year and finished third as a team.  After that, he found his niche in competitive fishing and began competing in Walleye tournaments throughout the state of Minnesota. When JD isn’t spending time with his wife and son, the rest of his spare time is spent on the water (or ice!) and just enjoying the outdoors.
